I was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, and lived for a time in Saudi Arabia, Illinois and California. My home is now amongst the moss and gnomes in Olympia, Washington. I hold a BA in Studio Art and BS in Psychology from Santa Clara University and have worked for the San Jose Museum of Art, Palo Alto Art Center and Tacoma Art Museum. When I’m not playing with shapes and colors, you’ll find me reading graphic novels with my kiddos, watching a cooking show with my husband, or at work for e-commerce sites Design Public/Danish Design Store.

Fun facts: • I called myself “Assi” as a kid • I have an affinity for accordions and lederhosen • I don’t own a pair of shorts • I get grossed out by people touching their eyeballs • Old rusty wood paneled stations wagons are A+ in my book. • I aim to be able to do cartwheels on the beach well into my 70’s • I once helped my husband photograph President Obama in San Francisco. I only took maybe 3 photos before my husband took over but that still counts, right?
